Cosmetically, the piece is in beautiful vintage condition with light surface wear consistent with age, but no major structural cracks or deep breaks.
Mechanically, the item requires a minor repair or adjustment: The lower wind-up lever successfully moves downward, but the center canopy dome lid does NOT automatically pop open as intended. The lid must be lifted manually to access the cigarette holder. Due to this mechanical lid issue, the item is being sold strictly "As-Is" for display, parts, or restoration by a vintage music box enthusiast. The gondola turns. The ballerina dances and the music plays, but she is missing her right hand.
