Designed by Howard Rees, the Peeping Bomb debuted in the 1970 Hot Wheels lineup as one of Mattel's futuristic in-house concept designs. Its signature feature is what gave the car its name: a lever inside the cockpit operates covers over the front headlights, allowing the headlights to “peep” out.
CONDITIONBeautiful vintage loose Peeping Bomb in a vibrant Light Green/Lime Spectraflame finish with excellent shine and strong eye appeal. Paint remains remarkably bright overall with some age-related toning/color variation visible across the body. There are scattered small paint chips/pops, light rubs and edge wear, most noticeable along the front lower lip, body edges and raised areas. The rear red taillight panel remains present with some age wear. Chrome engine/exhaust components show light oxidation, dulling and surface wear. Black interior and windshield are present, with light age-related surface wear. All four Redline wheels are present with strong visible red lines; wheel chrome shows some wear. Metal base is quite clean with light scratches/age wear. Overall, this is a very attractive vintage survivor that displays beautifully. Please review all photos closely for your own assessment
Our Family Collection
Our grandfather purchased these directly from Mattel through family members who worked there at the time. He once saleed them from his warehouse, and the remaining collection has been stored there for decades. We’re now liquidating this special part of our family history and truly hope each car finds a great home.
