Appears to be at the latest printed in the 1950s and probably before. The black genuine leather covers show edge rubs, scuffing, and fraying with small splits at the spine ends and along some joints. As you can see in 2 photos, the front cover is detached from the spine, but present. Thumb-indexed page edges are age toned with edge nicks near several tabs. Interior pages are toned but clean and legible; presentation, family register, and Holy Matrimony pages contain handwritten names, dates, and places. One text page has a small round hole affecting a few words (photos). The purple ribbon marker is present with fraying at the end, and the binding remains secure with all maps, color plates, and reference helps firmly attached. The illustrations and text are as crisp and clear as the day this jewel rolled off the press.
