Striking vintage hand-blown studio art glass vase featuring a substantial sculptural form in deep smoky blue-gray glass with sweeping ribbons of cream, amber-gold and blue-green worked throughout the body. The vase has a dramatic broad shoulder that tapers inward toward the base, topped by a short irregular neck and hand-finished rim. The flowing internal decoration changes considerably as the vase is rotated, giving the piece an abstract, almost painterly appearance. The underside shows a ground and polished pontil area, consistent with individually hand-worked art glass production. Unsigned and maker currently unknown. A particularly attractive piece of late-20th-century studio glass with strong Mid-Century Modern styling. Measures approximately 5\" wide.
