Vintage HB Quimper France hand-painted faience candlestick featuring a traditional Breton man with colorful floral decoration in blue, red, green and yellow.
Measures approximately 8 3/4 inches tall with a base approximately 4 1/2 inches wide. Weight is approximately 10 oz.
Bottom bears an HB Quimper France factory stamp along with hand-painted form/decor numbers and decorator markings. This style of HB Quimper marking is associated with the 1968–1983 production period.
Condition: Displays nicely, but there is an older repaired break/crack at the lower stem where it joins the base. Repair line is visible on close inspection. No other chips or cracks noted. Base shows shelf wear and glaze wear at the raised contact points consistent with age and use. Any remaining light surface marks are consistent with vintage condition. Please review all photos closely, especially the repair and underside.
