This classic military-humor image depicts a formally dressed artillery officer directing a cannon toward a chaotic battlefield melee filled with soldiers, weapons, equipment, explosions, and comic details.

George A. Finley was a U.S. military cartoonist and Army officer whose humorous military illustrations became popular with Army personnel, veterans, and collectors. He is especially known for detailed cartoons depicting military branches, training, and service life.
This particular design is one of Finley’s better-known artillery subjects and is associated with the early-to-mid 1960s period.
Presented in an older wood-tone frame with decorative corner accents.
CONDITION:
Pre-owned vintage condition. Artwork shows age-related toning, scattered spotting/staining, and other normal signs of age. Several small blemishes are visible toward the lower portion of the artwork. Frame shows expected wear from age and display.
