DESCRIPTION
STUNNING VINTAGE HAND-KNOTTED ORIENTAL TREE OF LIFE RUG
Beautiful finely hand-knotted Oriental area rug featuring an exceptionally detailed Tree of Life / garden pictorial design filled with birds, flowers, flowering branches, vases and intricate botanical motifs.
Measuring approximately 5\' x 8\', this is a remarkably detailed handmade rug with a very fine, tightly woven construction. The craftsmanship is especially impressive when viewed from the reverse, where the intricate design and individual hand-knotted construction remain clearly visible.
The rug features a beautiful ivory/cream background surrounded by an elaborate multicolor design incorporating shades of blue, turquoise, green, rose, red, brown and additional accent colors. Numerous birds and other small pictorial elements are worked throughout the floral garden design.
The rug has a fine, relatively low pile and long ivory fringe. The fringe appears to continue directly from the rug\'s foundation rather than being separately attached. The foundation fibers are exceptionally fine and lustrous.
Fiber content has not been professionally tested, so no specific silk content is being guaranteed.
There are faint blue markings near both ends of the rug. Their exact meaning or origin is unknown, and close-up photographs are included so they can be examined by the buyer.
CONDITION
Overall, the rug presents beautifully and is in very nice vintage pre-owned condition.
There is one small approximately 5/8\" blemish / area of near one end of the rug. This area is specifically shown in the photographs.
The faint blue markings near both ends are also photographed.
