Striking vintage hand-carved wooden Filipino Bakunawa-style dragon/demon mask featuring an elongated face, multiple pierced eye openings, deeply carved details and a dramatic open mouth with large painted fangs.The mask measures approximately 16 inches tall and features eight eye-shaped cutouts, a long sculpted nose, raised carved details and bold upper and lower teeth. Traces of red, white and darker painted pigment remain throughout the carving, especially around the eyes and mouth.A metal hanging loop on the back allows the mask to be displayed on the wall.The design is consistent with vintage Filipino Bakunawa dragon/demon folk art masks, traditionally depicting a mythical dragon-like creature. No maker, artist or location marking was found on this piece, so exact origin and age are unknown.This is a pre-owned vintage piece showing substantial age-related character and wear. The original painted finish has faded considerably, with visible paint loss, scratches, scuffs, discoloration and worn areas throughout. The reverse also has several areas of surface wear and finish loss.
