Rare 1st Version Vintage 1936–1938 Homer Laughlin Fiestaware Utility Tray – Original Light Green
Up for purchase is a highly prized, authentic Vintage Fiesta Utility Tray (celery/relish dish) in the beautiful, vibrant Original Light Green glaze.
This piece is a certified, highly collectible First Version Variation (produced only from 1936 to early 1938). It is instantly identifiable by its perfectly straight vertical side walls and fully dry, unglazed white bottom foot. These early versions were manufactured on a traditional factory ram press before the company permanently switched to slip-cast molds (which featured slanted walls and fully glazed bottoms) in April 1938 to prevent kiln warping.
True to early production rules for this specific shape, this early variant is correctly unmarked and does not feature a backstamp. An exceptional find for advanced collectors who specifically seek out first-version molds from the launch years of the Fiesta line!
Production Style: Early Ram Pressed (Dry Foot, Straight Walls, Unmarked)
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. Gorgeous, deep original green gloss glaze with great shine. No chips, cracks, flea bites, or restorations. The unglazed base rim shows expected, authentic light shelf wear consistent with a 1930s piece.
