Vintage Chinese Famille Rose / Rose Medallion Porcelain Basket Vase with Gilt Handle

Striking vintage Chinese porcelain basket-form vase featuring elaborate Famille Rose / Rose Medallion-style decoration. The vase is richly decorated with a detailed figural garden scene surrounded by colorful flowers, foliage and intricate ornamental borders against a dark ground.

The unusual basket form is highlighted by a dramatic overhead gilt handle, extensive gold-tone detailing and a softly glazed pale celadon/cream interior. The decoration includes shades of pink, blue, turquoise, green, orange, cream and gold, creating an exceptionally decorative Chinoiserie display piece.

The underside is marked “MADE IN CHINA” in red. No manufacturer\'s mark is present. Based on the form, decoration and marking, this piece is believed to date to approximately the mid-20th century, circa tall
