Beautiful matching pair of vintage Chinese cloisonné enamel vases, each approximately 12 inches tall, accompanied by their fitted carved-style wooden display stands.
These striking vases feature a black enamel ground with extensive gold/brass wirework, decorated with large pink and yellow peonies, butterflies, green foliage and traditional ornamental borders. Brass-tone rims and accents complete the design.
The underside retains an original “中国制造 / MADE IN CHINA” label. Based on the style and labeling, these appear to be vintage 20th-century Chinese export cloisonné, likely from the latter half of the century.
Both vases display beautifully as a complementary pair. The floral and butterfly arrangements vary slightly between the two, while the shape, colors, borders and overall design coordinate.
