Charming vintage figural pottery planter attributed to Cameron Clay Products of Cameron, West Virginia.
The planter depicts a Colonial/Victorian-style courting couple seated together on an ornate bench. The woman holds a small stringed instrument while the gentleman sits beside her. Behind the figures is a rectangular opening originally intended for flowers or a small plant.
The entire piece is finished in a glossy aqua / powder blue glaze. The back features the distinctive molded “W ♥ K” design with an arrow through the heart, a known feature of this Cameron Clay courting-couple planter.
