Vintage California Dressage Society equestrian publication lot including three original CDS reference booklets/publications:
• 1989 California Dressage Society Omnibus
• 1990 California Dressage Society Roster
• 2009 California Dressage Society Roster – Judges, Instructors and Trainers Supplement
This is a unique vintage equestrian reference lot connected to the California Dressage Society and the dressage community in California. The publications include horse show information, dressage tests, competition-related material, membership/reference information, judges, instructors, trainers, and other historical CDS content.
The 1989 Omnibus is especially interesting for collectors of vintage horse show, dressage, and equestrian ephemera. It includes period advertisements, dressage information, competition forms, tests, rules and organization-related material from the late 1980s.
The 1990 Roster contains California Dressage Society membership/reference information from that period, while the 2009 publication includes judges, instructors and trainers supplement information.
These are original period publications and not modern reprints.
Condition:
Pre-owned vintage condition with noticeable age-related wear.
The 1989 and 1990 publications show significant foxing, spotting, discoloration, surface wear, edge wear and general age toning. Covers have stains, marks and handling wear consistent with age.
The 2009 publication is cleaner overall but still shows light wear, handling marks and some surface discoloration.
There are mailing/address labels and/or previous owner mailing information on the backs of some publications, as shown in the photos.
Pages show age toning and occasional spotting. Some pages may have minor bends, creases or handling wear. The 1989 Omnibus includes original inserts/forms still present.
