A rare and distinguished 22ct gold-mounted fang style pendant from the British Raj period (circa 1870–1910) which has been part of an aristocratic estate for more than two centuries is finally being offered for sale. The mount contains almost six grams of high-purity 22ct gold and is decorated with intricate antique offerri-influenced techniques fine granulation, delicate filigree and classic spiral motifs. The natural claw retains its warm ivory-cream tone, elegant curvature and characteristic surface striations. An exceptional example of late-19th / early-20th century Anglo-Indian goldsmithing. Excellent antique condition. Mount secure, and firmly set, natural age character retained.
