Vintage Barbini Murano Sommerso Purple Pink Blue Opal Italian Art Glass Ashtray BowlBeautiful vintage Murano hand blown Sommerso amethyst purple / pink, blue, in opalescent, Italian art glass decorative ashtray or bowl. The piece is likely attributed to designer Alfredo Barbini, circa 1950s -1960s. The bowl has a thick rim, with indent / thumbprint on 1 side. It is made with an outside blue layer, with middle layer of opalescent glass. The inner layer is a purplish pink color. Would make a great display piece on any desk, vanity or coffee table. Use it as a catchall, jewelry or candy dish. Mid-century era. They were made my several Italian glass manufacturers from the Venetian island of Murano, and as such it is virtually impossible to identify the maker of an unmarked bowl.
