Early 20th-century jewelry pendant necklace featuring faux tortoiseshell made from Celluloid or casein-based Galalith. About 3" long.
The frame is cast Pewter or Pot Metal featuring a dark gunmetal/oxidized finish with chevron and filigree geometric motifs, typical of 1930s Czech and French costume jewelry.
The marcasite looking stones seem to be cast-in-place faux marcasites.
A delicate, wavy, "scalloped link" or crinkled book-chain is original to the 1920s–1930s to the era and popular European chain style for drop lavalieres. The modern spring-ring clasp was added later to replace a broken original bolt ring.
