Vintage Allis‑Chalmers / Monarch crawler tractor steering wheel, believed to date from the 1930s era.
This original steering wheel measures approximately 18" in diameter and features a 4‑spoke cast metal center with a 1‑1/16" double‑keyed hub bore (opposing keyways). It was acquired from a long‑time collection of Allis‑Chalmers crawler tractor parts and is believed to be associated with an early Allis‑Chalmers / Monarch crawler application.
The outer composition/rubber rim shows substantial age‑related deterioration and wear consistent with decades of use and storage, but remains solid and firmly attached. The wheel retains an attractive vintage patina, with traces of red paint still visible around the center hub. The spoke assembly appears solid, and the hub bore and keyways remain well‑defined. A small edge dent is present on the backside of the hub, as shown in the photos; it does not affect the structural integrity of the wheel or the function of the keyed bore.
No manufacturer markings, casting numbers, or part numbers were found, so exact model compatibility cannot be guaranteed. Please compare measurements and photos with your application before purchasing.
