Vintage All American Engineering Co. (AAE) aerospace component marked “SK10749 D.”
This unusual vintage aircraft component is marked:
ALL AMER. ENG.
SK10749 D
The opposite side has additional period markings, including “2 HN X RAY” and an AAE manufacturer’s mark.
Research has established that All American Engineering Company of Wilmington, Delaware was involved in aircraft arresting-hook and aircraft recovery equipment during the mid-20th century.
A July 1960 Federal Aviation Agency report prepared by All American Engineering, A Report on Feasibility Tests of Aircraft-Mounted Arresting Hook, documents AAE’s work on an aircraft-mounted arresting-hook installation for a Convair Model 340 / USAF C-131B aircraft. The report states that AAE designed and installed the arresting hook and its attaching hardware.
The same report specifically references an earlier AAE engineering report:
M-299A — “Arresting Hook Design for Convair C-131-B Aircraft,” revised March 1959, with August 1959 supplement.
Important: I have not yet established that this particular SK10749 D component came from the C-131B installation, nor have I identified the exact function of this individual part. It is being sold based on the markings, manufacturer attribution and documented AAE aerospace history rather than an unverified aircraft-specific claim.
