Vintage 1960s AKG D19C/200 Cardioid Dynamic Microphone – Original Case & Cable – Beatles / Abbey Road Era – AS-IS
Offered for sale is an original vintageAKG D19C/200 cardioid dynamic microphone, made in Austria and dating from the classic 1960s era of AKG professional microphones.
This is theD19C/200 200-ohm version, as marked on the microphone.
The AKG D19C has become one of the most recognizable vintage studio microphones because of its extensive use atAbbey Road Studios during Beatles recording sessions. Abbey Road has documented the D19C\'s use over Ringo Starr\'s drum kit, as well as its use on hi-hat, toms, piano, acoustic guitar and other studio applications.
The D19 was originally a professional utility microphone featuring a cardioid pickup pattern and unusually extended response for a dynamic microphone of its era.

I do not know what component has failed and have not attempted to disassemble or repair the microphone. Given the collectibility of these microphones, I have intentionally left it in its present original condition rather than attempting a repair.
Cosmetically, the microphone shows normal age and use consistent with a professional microphone of this vintage. There are marks, scratches and finish wear visible in the photographs. The metal grille appears intact and presents well for its age.
