Gorgeous authentic hippie piece- witchy, trippy, boho, fairy Fall vibes. Amazing for Ren Faire, pagan or Autumn festivals.
True vintage 1960’s - early ‘70s hooded velvet maxi dress by Nirvana of India. Fabric is a heavier rayon velvet in a multi color patchwork-paisley print in rich jewel tones. This would be a warm piece to wear to Fall events. The print even has a row of hearts! True maxi length- I’m 5’3 and falls to my feet.
Wide cuffs that bottom. Unlined (but it’s a sturdy velvet), massive hood is lined in the same fabric. Buttons down the front to the waistline. Skirt is slightly gathered. No pockets.
Dress is in beautiful condition, only flaw is missing the velvet top to one cuff button. Could be replaced, or if you’re crafty you could fashion a new one from velvet on the under hem or from a matching solid velvet. Otherwise, looks great, is clean with no issues to note! Looks so much nicer in person, this is a rare vintage find.
Size on label: vintage 11/12 juniors, fits much smaller like a ladies XS or slim S. This brand runs very small.
For reference, dress form is an XS and dress fits nicely. Should also work for a S if you are small busted with narrow shoulders.
Across chest: flat: 18” (x2)
Shoulders: 14.25”
Across waistline: 15”
Sleeve: 27.25”
Across hips: 22” with more room as there are gathers
Length, high shoulder to hem: 54.5”
