Vintage Animal Classics humpback whale sculpture by UDC, dated 1988.
This impressive large-scale marine life sculpture depicts a humpback whale swimming above a textured ocean-floor base, supported by a clear acrylic post. The base is molded with the words “humpback whale.”
The underside retains its original Animal Classics label as well as the original identification sticker marked:

The whale itself is also marked © UDC ’88 USA on the underside of the tail.
The whale measures approximately 16 1/2” long when measured straight from nose to tail, not following the upward curve of the body, making this a substantial display piece. Please see the measurement photo for reference.
Beautifully detailed throughout, including the whale’s long pectoral fins, textured skin, characteristic humpback body shape, contrasting lighter underside, tail flukes, and sculpted head details. The dark gray/black coloration and elevated swimming pose give the piece a very striking appearance when displayed.
Condition:
Good vintage condition for its age. The sculpture displays well. There is visible age-related surface wear and fine crazing/texture to portions of the finish, along with some marks and wear to the base and underside consistent with age and display. The clear support also shows some wear/marks. Please review all photos closely, as they are an important part of the condition description.
