Vintage 1987 California Raisins musical display toy, originally presented by Del Monte Fruit Snacks and manufactured by Applause Special Markets Division.
The set includes:
* Sandwich-shaped musical stage/base
* Three poseable California Raisins figures
* Original plastic storage bag
* Original operating and parental-warning instruction sheet
* Original illustrated carrying box
The instructions state that the figures can be posed by bending their arms and placed on the stage. Pressing the white button in the corner of the sandwich stage starts the music. The figures’ hands and feet should not be twisted.
The box identifies the characters and design as ©1987 CALRAB and notes that the claymation was designed by Will Vinton. The California Raisins became a major advertising and merchandising phenomenon beginning in the late 1980s.
