Vintage Western Electric / Bell System LC11B Tie Trunk PBX Circuit Card – Circa 1982
Original vintage Western Electric / Bell System telecommunications circuit pack from the early 1980s.This is an unusually component-dense Western Electric PBX card with numerous original Western Electric integrated circuits, metal-can components, transformers, discrete components and gold-plated card-edge contacts.

Based on the component markings, this circuit pack appears to date from approximately 1982.
This LC11B was designed as a Tie Trunk circuit card for vintage Western Electric/Bell System PBX telecommunications equipment. Tie trunks were used to provide trunk connections between PBX/telephone switching systems.Notable vintage components include:
Numerous Western Electric proprietary integrated circuits, including devices marked 41N, 41CA, 41EE, 502 AR, 502 CN, 559C and 163G, along with additional WE components.
The board also contains several large metal-can transformer/module assemblies, multiple high-voltage components marked “DANGER HIGH PRESSURE DO NOT OPEN,” banks of discrete resistors/capacitors/transistors, DIP switches, wiring assemblies, and a row of individual line/trunk interface modules along the front edge.
Precious-metal-bearing construction:
This board has numerous visibly gold-plated card-edge connector contacts along the backplane connection edge.
Many of the vintage Western Electric integrated circuits also have gold-colored/plated leads visible in the photographs. Semiconductor devices manufactured during this period commonly used precious-metal-bearing construction in certain packages, potentially including gold-plated connections and internal gold bonding wire. Exact internal construction and precious-metal quantity have not been independently tested or verified, so no specific recoverable gold quantity is represented or guaranteed.
