Vintage Rudy Ann Tobar-Blanco New Orleans Hand-Painted Marbled Cloth Purse – New With Original Tag
Beautiful and unusual vintage shoulder purse by Rudy Ann Tobar-Blanco of New Orleans featuring a vibrant hand-painted marbled design in shades of pink, lavender, green, yellow, blue, cream and orange.
Estimated late 1970s–1980s, based on the designer’s documented activity in New Orleans and the construction/style of the piece. Exact year is unknown.
The original designer hangtag remains attached and is handwritten on the reverse with “Hand painted / Marbling / Cloth / Dry Clean.” The bag also retains its original interior Rudy Ann Tobar-Blanco New Orleans label.
Features a softly structured cloth body with contrasting cream piping, coordinating braided cord shoulder strap, top zipper closure, neutral fabric lining and interior slip pocket.
Condition: Vintage new old stock with original hangtag attached. Never used to the best of my knowledge. Due to age/storage, there may be minor signs of handling or storage consistent with a vintage textile item. Please review all photos closely for exact condition.

A wonderful and apparently quite scarce piece of New Orleans wearable art/vintage textile design. The hand-marbled pattern makes this bag especially unique, as the painted design has the character of an individually produced artisan piece.
