Up for sale is a genuine, vintage 1970 Woodstock
"Music, Love, Peace " ( Guitar & Dove ) Lithograph poster by renowned artist Joe Petagno III. This an authentic commercial release from the Film Producers Poster Co. (LA Calif.), issued shortly after the 1969 festival to capitalize on the iconic 1970 documentary release. This is not a modern digital reprint or bootleg. It features the correct heavy stock vintage paper, solid ink layers, and authentic 1970 text credits printed clearly along the bottom margin. Measures precisely
35" x 23 1/4" inches ( The exact correct catalog sizing for this specific 1970 headshop print run, often rounded up to 36" x 24" inches. Overall in
very good vintage condition with excellent, vibrant color retention. There is a minor 1/2" tear at the very top center margin, with light wrinkles just below the margin ( PLEASE SEE CLOSE-UP PHOTOS FOR EXACT DETAILS ). There's what appears to be the crusty residue from masking tape to the lower right and left of the Guitar & Dove. and on the right side of the image. If thinking about removing, proper conservation is recommended. The poster retains plenty of its original borders. The tears and wrinkles are located high enough on the margin that they can easily be hidden if matted and framed. Note, this piece is not framed and has been displayed, and later stored in a tube.
