Done in the highly detailed "Amate" storytelling style unique to the village of Xalitla, this piece features an incredible black-line panoramic narrative over a cream slip-glaze base.The dense interior artwork depicts a vibrant village celebration beneath a smiling sun, complete with a traditional cockfight (palenque) ring, thatched-roof huts (chozas), mountains, townfolk, and local wildlife. The exterior rim is wrapped in a continuous, intricately detailed wedding procession scene.
