Vintage Whitman Great Britain Threepence Brass Coin Folder – No. 8004Offered for sale is an original vintage Whitman Great Britain Threepence Brass coin collecting folder, catalogue No. 8004.This is the blank/custom arrangement version of Whitman’s classic British brass threepence folder, allowing collectors to arrange their coins according to their own preferred dates, varieties or classifications.The Whitman series documentation distinguishes No. 9687 as the dated brass threepence folder starting in 1937 and No. 8004 as the corresponding blank folder. THREEPENCE BRASSand carries the traditional Whitman globe logo together with catalogue number 8004.Blank collector formatAn especially useful feature of No. 8004 is that the individual apertures are not assigned to particular dates.The original publisher’s text explains that the folder was deliberately designed without dates so collectors could house their coins according to their own arrangement or classification. It also states that appropriately sized Commonwealth coins could be included.This makes it suitable for building a customised collection of Britain’s distinctive 12-sided brass threepence, as well as other appropriately sized coins.InteriorThe folder contains multiple original blue card pages with press-in apertures.The photographs show the apertures empty, allowing the new owner to organise a collection from scratch.The album also retains its original printed Whitman reference material, including the “Coin Folders in This Series” page listing contemporary British folders for farthings, halfpennies, pennies, silver and brass threepence, sixpences, shillings, florins and half crowns.ConditionThis is a genuine vintage collector’s folder dating from 1968 and is therefore offered in used vintage condition.The blue textured covers retain strong colour and clear silver-coloured lettering. There is general age-related rubbing, surface marking and wear to the corners and edges.Please note: there is visible wear/separation to part of the internal binding/spine, clearly shown in the close-up photograph.
