Vintage 1960s Mid Century UNITED Model 20 Brass Ivy STARBURST Wall Clock WORKS !
This is a vintage mid-century MCM United MODEL 20 Ivy sunburst wall clock and is a stunning piece that makes a real statement at a whopping 23 inches in diameter !!!
This stunning brass electric wall clock was made by United Clock Corp., Brooklyn, New York and dates to the mid-century modern era,1960s or so. It is a Model No. 20. The design features a gorgeous brass ivy-leaf motif radiating outward in a starburst style, framing a circular clock face with Roman numerals and a warm gold dial.
Measures about 23 inches in diameter, clock itself having an 8 inch diameter, about 3 inches in height profile from the wall when hung, makes quite a BOLD statement piece.
There are eight leaf clusters with three leaves in each cluster.
This clock was a recent estate sale find, it had been in storage for years.
It has been plugged in and running just fine for days, seems to keep pretty good time, but no guarantees as its over 60 years old.
The clock is in really good working condition, the clock movement is super quite for a vintage 65 year old clock motor, please see the video. No real noticeable noise when running.
The electric mechanism runs well and seems to keep time accurately. Like many vintage United electric clocks, it has a soft, audible hum when operating, typical of these period motors. A fantastic statement piece for any retro living room, mid-century interior, or Hollywood Regency display.
Glass bezel is damage free, the brass color metal still retains a beautiful sheen and patina with light surface wear and finish loss in places consistent with age, no broken or missing ivy leaves.
