Meramec Mining Company was formed in 1957 as a joint venture between St. Joseph Lead Company and Bethlehem Steel. Pea Ridge began shipping iron-ore pellets in 1964, and the Meramec operation was reorganized under a different company name in 1978. The corporate name and cap construction place this example most plausibly in the 1960s–1970s.
