Vintage 1958 or 1959 German Mohair Jointed Teddy Bear - 20" - Single Original Owner.Offered for sale is a beautiful, large 20-inch tall vintage German mohair teddy bear (Hermann / Sonneberger pattern), originally received brand new from my aunt (probably purchased from a department store) as a gift around 1958 or 1959. I am the original, single owner of this bear, and it has been kept in a smoke-free home for nearly 70 years.This bear features a gorgeous, thick tipped/frosted mohair coat, classic jointed limbs, an inset muzzle, and an internal tilt growler mechanism which works sporadically.Condition Details:
Please review the photos and description carefully, as this beloved childhood bear shows honest age and wear:

• Provenance: Single-owner history from 1958/1959.
• Mohair: Excellent, plush coverage across the body with minimal thinning.
• Voice: The internal tilt growler operates partially; it makes a mechanical clicking/groaning sound when moved but does not execute a full, deep growl.
• Right Paw Pad: Features an open 3/4" hole in the fabric lining, cleanly exposing the original straw/wood-wool stuffing.
• Left Arm Joint: The arm detached previously and was re-attached in 2010 with hand-stitching by the appraiser John Paul Port (his certificate is pictured). The joint is secure but tight, currently allowing the arm to lift about halfway up.
• Left Foot Pad: Shows a few light surface stains consistent with age.
• Back of Head: Shows a knotted string end - perhaps this is where there used to be a tag?
