Vintage Rushton Jack & Jill Rubber-Faced Dolls — Matching Pair — Circa 1950s

Offered is a vintage matching pair of Rushton Jack & Jill rubber-faced dolls, dating approximately to the 1950s.

These are the classic Rushton plush dolls with molded rubber faces, painted facial details, synthetic hair and soft plush/felt bodies.

Jill

The blonde Jill wears her distinctive light-blue dress with white polka dots, yellow trim/rickrack and a sheer apron, with matching yellow felt footwear.

She has the characteristic Rushton facial construction with large blue eyes, painted lashes and brows, rosy cheeks, molded nose and smiling expression.

Jill is particularly interesting to collectors because the Rushton Jill doll is historically associated with the original Mrs. Beasley character from the television series Family Affair. The original television character appeared in the 1960s; this Rushton doll is from the earlier Rushton production era.

Jack

The matching Jack wears yellow felt overalls over a colorful plaid shirt, with contrasting yellow trim/rickrack, red-and-white striped socks and large gray felt shoes.

He has bright red/orange synthetic hair and a blue-gray felt cap with yellow trim.

His molded rubber face features the characteristic large blue eyes, painted lashes and brows, rosy cheeks, dimples and smiling expression associated with these vintage Rushton dolls.

Tags

Both dolls retain their attached vintage tags, which are visible in the photographs.
