This charming vintage Japanese wishing well bank looks like it wandered straight out of a mid-century fairy tale.
Finished in a beautiful pearlescent white luster glaze, the ceramic flashes soft pink, blue and rainbow tones as the light moves across it. A sweet little pixie/elf-like figure in a jaunty hat and pink shoes sits beside the coin slot, while tiny applied flowers and colorful jewel-like accents decorate the well.
Across the roof: "DROP A COIN MAKE A WISH."
Dating approximately to the 1950s–60s, this whimsical lusterware style was produced in Japan for the American export market. Similar banks were marketed by companies including Lefton and Norcrest; however, the original label is largely missing, so no specific maker is being attributed.
The underside retains remnants of an old label, handwritten inventory number and black rubber coin stopper.

Condition:
Good vintage condition with age-related surface wear and evidence of previous display/use. Beautiful iridescent finish remains. Please review original photos for exact condition.
