Up for sale is a beautiful set of two (2) vintage Franciscan oval serving platters in the classic Apple pattern. Both pieces feature the iconic, deeply sculpted hand-painted design of rich red apples, green leaves, and rustic brown branch borders against a creamy ivory base.

This matching pair spans two highly collectible, sequential production eras from the original California plant:
Platter 1 features the circular 1953–1958 backstamp reading "Gladding, McBean & Co. - Made in U.S.A."
Platter 2 features the subsequent 1958–1961 backstamp incorporating the arched "Franciscan - Hand Decorated - Oven-Safe" text.
Because these are original mid-century California pottery pieces, they have a heavier weight, thicker mold depth, and richer glazes compared to later international runs. Perfect for hosting, holiday tables, or expanding a vintage collection.
Condition: Good used, vintage condition with bold, bright colors and a beautiful glossy finish. No major chips (one very small chip on back of small platter), cracks, or visible structural repairs. There are some utensil marks consistent with vintage pieces. (As shown in photos).
