Vintage 1950\'s Gilbert Chemistry Set #25
Please look at all pictures.
I won\'t sugarcoat this set - looking at the chemical jars there are about 45. Just a couple are empty.
The test tubes there are about a dozen empty, and about 18 with chemicals, a couple are liquid or oil in them.
A candle - never used.
Paper pkgs, about 12, litmus, testing chemicals, all mostly never used.
A balancing scale to weigh chemicals, a round screen, a small thermometer, odds and ends.
A manual and another booklet.
This set is more than 60 years old, I honestly don\'t believe it was used very much.
I did wipe down all the chemical jars, rinsed the outside of the test tubes; everything is not cleaned perfect.
The metal case itself is not pretty, 1 hinge is not connected on the sides, but the other 3 hinges are. The 3 yellow racks that hold the test tubes, the middle one is not connected on the left side, but it is on the right side, they swivel out.
There is obvious rust, no holes, but surface rust (see pics). One shelf had some missing metal, my husband cut out a metal piece to rest on top of it.
This is a good size set with loads of items, more than a lot of Gilbert\'s other chemistry sets.
It does weigh 17 pounds boxed; item will be insured for full sale value.
