This classic early Scrabble set features the traditional green playing board with red and blue premium-word spaces, genuine wooden letter tiles, wooden tile racks and its original black presentation box with blue-and-gold Scrabble label.
The original rules inside the box show copyright dates 1948, 1949 and 1953, making this a wonderful mid-century Scrabble collectible. Similar surviving sets are often identified and marketed using those copyright dates, although the copyright dates alone do not necessarily establish the exact manufacturing year.
