Vintage 1941 Isaac Friedlander Beethoven Woodcut Print Pencil Signed
Original vintage woodcut portrait of Ludwig van Beethoven by noted Latvian-American printmaker Isaac Friedlander. This expressive black-and-white portrait is pencil titled “L. van Beethoven” in the lower left margin and pencil signed by the artist in the lower right.
The print remains housed in an older period frame with woven fabric matting, believed to be vintage to the piece. A striking example of Friedlander’s craftsmanship and an excellent addition to any collection of fine prints, music memorabilia, or early 20th-century American art.
Condition: Estate fresh. The print is not protected by glass and shows age-related wear including light rippling in the upper right corner, scattered toning and darkening near the top edge, and a few light spots visible in the paper. The reverse paper backing is torn and deteriorated from age. Please review all photos carefully as they are part of the description.
