Original late 1940s–1950s railroad engineer/work cap constructed from blue and white Liberty stripe cotton work cloth.
Features a soft pleated crown, fixed lower band, short reinforced bill with multiple rows of stitching and paired metal ventilation eyelets at each side. The closely spaced Liberty stripe pattern is considerably less common than standard hickory stripe.
No maker or size label remains. Appears Small.
Condition
Well-worn original vintage condition with substantial fading and patina, discoloration, surface soiling, edge wear and scattered loose or abraded stitching throughout. Please examine all photographs closely for the complete condition.
