Item: Vintage Pre-WWII Fisher-Price #778 \"Ice Cream Wagon\" Wooden Pull Toy (Produced 1940–1941).
Mechanical Condition: Good working order if string is reattached to its proper position on the front of the toy. String has broke at some point in the past and was tied to the front axle by previous owner as shown in pictures. When pulled, the internal cam mechanism functions perfectly—the spaniel dog’s wood cutout arms smoothly alternate back and forth, striking the nickeled metal bell clearly. The Bell does have some dirt/Rust that was not attempted to be cleaned.
Cosmetic Condition: The paper lithographs are completely original, bright, and fully legible. There is typical age-related bubbling, minor edge scuffing, and light staining consistent with an 85-year-old toy (please review close-up photos for exact paper condition). Wood frame has a crack in left front axel as pictured and yellow wheels are solid.
Completeness: Please note this piece is missing the removable red-and-yellow striped wood roof canopy that originally sat over the back wagon bin.
Ships securely padded to preserve the vintage paper graphics. See pictures for more details. Please message with any questions before purchasing!
