Authentic period homemade / workwear-style hickory stripe chore coat in classic blue-and-white vertical stripe. Lightweight cotton or cotton-blend fabric with the soft, broken-in hand typical of true pre-war pieces. Features a simple pointed collar, four brown buttons down the front, one chest pocket, and two lower patch pockets.This is a true handmade / home-sewn piece rather than a factory-branded garment. Construction details, irregular stitching, and the overall cut are consistent with private or small-shop work from the 1930s. The seller originally acquired it from a long-time, well-regarded vintage dealer who sourced it from a Sacramento estate sale.Condition Shows honest age and hard use with period repairs that add to its character: multiple fabric patches (including on the front placket area and elsewhere), reinforced buttonholes, small holes that have been mended, and general fading/softening of the stripe.
