This vintage 1914 hardcover edition of Poor Richard\'s Almanack features a classic selection of proverbs, witty maxims, and apothegms by Benjamin Franklin, alongside a brief introductory sketch of his life. A unique piece of early 20th-century Midwestern printing history, this slim 62-page volume was published by the Ben Franklin Quiz Publishing Co. (The B. F. Q. Publishing Co.) out of Waterloo, Iowa. The interior includes a striking black-and-white portrait illustration of Franklin as a frontispiece opposite the decorative title page.The book is in good vintage condition, bound in its original green cloth with bright, crisp gold-gilded lettering remaining on the front cover. The spine and edges show light shelf wear and very minor corner softening appropriate for its age, while the back cover remains flat and clean. The interior text block is complete and firmly bound, with the pages displaying standard, uniform age-related toning but remaining remarkably clean and free of handwritten names, highlights, or severe stains.
