Some wear and age to cover and box. Paper hinge between lid and box has split. Name/address stamp on lid and inside box. Booklet has slight wear and age. No markings. Record sleeves are aged and worn with some splitting and had-written inventory marks. Vinyl records show minor surface wear and light marks consistent with age, but remain playable. Photos are of the actual item for sale.
Tito Gobbi (1913–1984) was an Italian baritone whose career centered on dramatic and character roles, particularly in Verdi and Puccini. He sang Simon Boccanegra as well as such roles as Scarpia in Tosca, Iago in Otello, and the title role in Falstaff, and he also worked as an opera director later in his career.
Boris Christoff (1914–1993) was a Bulgarian bass who established an international career principally in Italian and Russian opera. His repertory included Fiesco in Simon Boccanegra, Philip II and the Grand Inquisitor in Don Carlos, Boris Godunov, and several major roles in the operas of Mussorgsky and other Russian composers.
Victoria de los Ángeles (1923–2005) was a Spanish soprano whose international career encompassed opera, art song, and Spanish vocal music. Her operatic repertory included Amelia in Simon Boccanegra, Marguerite in Faust, Mimì in La bohème, and the title roles of Manon and Madama Butterfly; she was also widely recorded in recital repertory.
