This is a Barboglio for Neiman Marcus, from the early run when the label still carried both sisters' names. Jan and Cristina Barboglio launched the line in 1982 out of the hacienda world they grew up in on a cattle ranch in northern Mexico, and their first collection was exactly this: white cotton dresses cut like a señorita's, which they styled with ammunition belts and combat boots. Neiman Marcus carried them; the line ended in the late 90s.
Crisp white cotton, collarless, with big puffed half sleeves gathered into elastic cuffs. The bodice is banded with horizontal pintuck pleats above an empire waist, and the full A-line skirt repeats the pintuck bands near the hem. Unlined. Pulls on overhead. Wear it the way they meant it, with boots.
