Up for sale is a beautiful, authentic vintage 1984 studioart glass paperweight handcrafted by acclaimed Pacific Northwest glass artistNancy Becker (Sisters Oregon Glassworks / Tumalo Art Co.).Becker\'s lustrous, organic pieces utilize an intricate hot-sculptedglass layering process to achieve painterly, flowing results inspired bynature. This substantial, egg-shaped (ovoid) piece features an exceptionalabstract core plume. Thick ribbons of deep cobalt blue and opaque white glassswirl upward into a tight whirlpool design, beautifully crowned by a richsplash of dark oxblood/plum red.Beautiful, symmetrical controlled teardropbubbles accent the sides, completely encased inside a heavy, crystal-clearglass dome. Hand-engraved via diamond-point signature is etching on the lowersurface. Features her distinctive cursive \"N\" flowing into a\"B\" that incorporates her signature heart monogram mark, followed bythe year \"\'84\". The base is finished with a smooth, semi-polishedground pontil mark.
This is in excellent vintage condition with exceptionalclarity and no chips, cracks, fleabites, or deep bruising. Beautifullytransparent crystal casing showing only minimal, expected shelf wear on thebottom base.Exterior Wear Note: There is a localized horizontal patch of superficialsurface scratching / light abrasion wear on one side of the clear glass body(picture with arrow). This appears to be minor shelf contact wear or contact\"chatter\" marks. It does not penetrate deep into the glass but isvisible under close inspection.
