An awesome, vintage X-men comics LOT, featuring GIANT-SIZE X-Men #1. Published in May of 1975, GIANT-SIZE X-Men #1 is considered to be an essential book for collectors, because it saved the original, failing X-Men franchise, and introducing iconic new characters to the team, including Storm, Colossus, Nightcrawler, and Thunderbird. It also marks the 1st official team appearance for Wolverine, and launches the legendary ‘modern era’ of mutant stories.
FULL DISCLAIMER: This copy is a reader copy that is not without its flaws. Overall, it’s in good shape, but it does have some noticeable issues on both the cover, and on the spine… but little else to complain of elsewhere. I’ve owned this copy for most of its lifetime, and since about 1982 it’s been unread, bagged, boarded, and stored in a box, out of direct sunlight.
Because Marvel crammed 75 pages worth of content into this oversized format, it’s very typical for these books to have poor condition around the spine, and elsewhere on the cover… because even a minor amount reading/handling led to an abnormal amount of wear and tear (due to the extra kinetic pressure placed on the paper at the staple points). That is the state of affairs with this specific book, as there 4-5 noticeable tears on the cover at various points, especially near the spine. On the plus side, the colors are still very, very nice - lightly faded, but still vibrant to look at… not only on the cover, but throughout the main body as well.
Additional books included in this LOT are X-Men #87, X-Men #88 (ft. Frankenstein), as well as Amazing Adventures Featuring The X-Men #1(vs Magneto), and Amazing Adventures Featuring The X-Men #5 (vs ‘The Blob’).

I am not a professional seller/reseller of comics, and certainly no expert on condition grading. But that disclaimer aside, I will say that I have made a genuine effort to photograph and describe each book in specific detail below, and I’ve used the best criteria for description of condition and estimation of grades that I can find online. All books are ungraded, and this LOT is a unique opportunity for the right collector; someone that wants to spend the required time & effort required to increase their value via professional grading services. I’m not a real collector; these are the comics of my youth and I’m ready to let them go to someone that will appreciate them more than myself (and hopefully maximize their value)!

2. Amazing Adventures Featuring The X-Men #1 (ft. Magneto, December 1979): this book is a Bronze Age reprint comic book with a 40-cent cover price. It reprints the first 12 pages of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby's classic The X-Men #1 from 1963, alongside a partial reprint from X-Men #38. This copy is in excellent overall shape… ESTIMATED GRADE RANGE: [6.0 - 8.0 fine/very fine]
3. Amazing Adventures Featuring The X-Men #5 (ft. The Blob, April 1980): Bronze Age reprint issue featuring classic X-Men stories originally written by Stan Lee and Roy Thomas with art by Jack Kirby and Werner Roth. 4. X-Men (Vol. 1) #87 (April, 1974): a reprint issue from Marvel Comics' Bronze Age era. It reprints "The Fateful Finale!" originally from X-Men #39, written by Roy Thomas with art by Don Heck and Vince Colletta. 5. X-Men (Vol. 1) #88 (June, 1974) another reprint issue featuring the “story called The Mark of the Monster!", telling an early classic battle involving the original roster and Frankenstein's Monster!
