VINTAGE 1962 NYSTROM BIOLOGICAL 3D MODEL PLANT STEM CROSS SECTION
Amazing life-like model of a Herbaceous Monocot Stem (a plant stem) enlarged 300 times its actual size, made in 1962 by the Nystrom Biological Model Company of Chicago.
This intricately detailed scientific model is made of hard plastic and hand-painted indicating the various cells and fibers on this wedge-shaped plant stem cutaway.
One side reads "HERBACEOUS MONOCOT STEM - BM-403 - CORN (ZEA MAYS) - ENLARGED ABOUT 300 TIMES" and lists 18 various cells that are numbered and correspond to the numbers on the model.
The lower left corner has the original metal label reading "NYSTROM BIOLOGICAL MODEL CO. - "LIFE - LIKE MODELS" - CHICAGO 18, ILLINOIS" and below that is embossed "©NYSTROM BIOLOGICAL MODEL CO. 1962".
DIMENSIONS: 20" long by 9" wide by 6" tall, and weighs 4.25 lbs.
