Model Number: 140. The \"140\" stamp right beneath the serial number confirms that this is a Buescher Aristocrat Model 140 Alto Saxophone. The Model 140 is highly regarded among vintage players for its warm, focused tone and excellent intonation. Serial Number: 347498. Production Year: 1952. According to historical Buescher serial number records, the 347,000 range marks production starting exactly in 1952.
Era & Variant: This serial number places the saxophone right at the transition period directly following the \"Big B\" era. It features Buescher’s trademark \"True Tone\" logo stamp with the triangle and bell emblem on the back.
Condition:
The saxophone has original features like the standard Buescher True Tone branding. However, the lacquer shows severe heavy scratching, surface wear, and extensive oxidation across the brass casing. However, it is complete with neck, mouthpiece and hard case.
