Classic \"INSTRUCTION LABEL\" at the interior lower right front.
Condition: This jungle jacket is in Good Condition. A bit of scattered grayish spot soiling around the lower front. A spot of black magic marker staining at the interior right chest (not visible at the exterior). Several small spots of black magic marker staining at the interior left chest (not visible at the exterior).Moderate scattered loose edge sewing to the government tags inside. Two tears in the back left hem. A few small nicks, some orangish brown spot soiling, and a small spot of black magic marker staining scattered around the lower right back. Classic 2nd pattern jungle jacket with button shoulder straps and waist adjusters. Traditional 4 front pocket design with the top two slanted inward at a jaunty angle. Sports all of the original dimpled OD plastic buttons throughout. Smooth OD 100% cotton poplin construction.
Historical Background:US Marines deployed to Vietnam in early 1965, at first to defend American air bases from VC attacks. By August they had seen their first action, cutting off and destroying a large Viet Cong force on the coast at Chu Lai in Operation Starlite.
