U.S. 1862 24¢ lilac George Washington, Scott #78, used. This is the exact stamp in the two photographs. The cancel includes two prominent dark diagonal strokes across the portrait and additional black marking at left. Orange-brown staining or discoloration is visible toward the right of the face, with age toning on the reverse. Shade is identified provisionally from photos; no expert certificate is included.
