Offered is a genuine United States Scott #298, the 1901 8¢ Pan-American Exposition commemorative depicting the Canal Locks at Sault Ste. Marie.
This attractive unused example retains its large corner selvage with unusual Bureau pressmen’s initials and production markings. The stamp has pleasing color, a detailed impression, and generally attractive centering.
The original gum is present but disturbed. There are also separations along some of the perforations between the attached selvage sections; indicated by blue line in image. The stamp remains attached to the marked selvage. Please examine all photographs carefully for centering, perforations, gum condition, and overall condition.
The large marked selvage has been left completely intact and has not been trimmed or reinforced.
The pictured stamp is the exact item you will receive. It will be securely packaged for shipping.
