Vintage collection of United States commemorative postage stamps from 1937–1940, displayed on four illustrated “United States Commemoratives” album pages. The collection covers a wide variety of American historical subjects, including the Territorial Series, Constitution Ratification, Northwest Territory Sesquicentennial, Iowa Territory, Delaware, Baseball Centennial, Washington Inaugural, New York World’s Fair, Golden Gate International Exposition, Printing Press, Canal Zone, Statehood, Pony Express, Pan American Union, Idaho, Wyoming, and the 1940 Famous American Series.
The Famous American Series page includes stamps honoring notable American authors James Fenimore Cooper, Washington Irving, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Louisa May Alcott, and Samuel L. Clemens (Mark Twain). Each album page provides printed historical information accompanying the stamps.
